What is imperial system?
The system of imperial units or the imperial units, is a system of units, which is defined at British weights and measurements act 1824, and was later reduced. It was then came into lights by British Empire, and by 20th century, it was adopted by most nations as their main system.

Primarily litre was called as casil. In 1795, it was introduced as the republican unit of measurements and is thus defined as cubic decimeter by France. In addition, the symbol for the litre was 'l', but later it was changed to 'L'.
Furthermore, the litre or liter is an SI unit of volume, which is equal to 1 cubic decimeter or 1,000 cubic centimeters. A litre occupies a volume of 10x10x10 centimeters and is therefore equal to one thousand of cubic meter.
One litre is slightly more than one U.S. liquid quart and is minor less that one imperial quart or one U.S. dry quart. It’s basically a volume of cube and one cubic foot has exact volume of 28.316846592 litres.
Oz or Fluid Ounce:
It’s a unit of volume called as capacity, which is used to measure liquid, gases or solids. Basically, it is the volume, which is occupied by 1 ounce of some substance like water or wine. However the ounce is varied as per the system used. For instance, the 364pound woolsack, which weighs approx. 165 kg has a 14 ounce allowance i.e. 6.4 kg for the weight of sack or other packing material.
Ounce is derived from Latin Uncia, which is a 1/12 of a Roman pound. It was first called as ynsan and then changed to Middle English by Anglo Norman as Ounce. Fluid ounce is a unit of volume, which is equal to about 28.4 ml in the imperial system. It is also equal to the volume occupied by 1 imperial ounce of water which weigh is air at 62 degree Fahrenheit.
It is also a measurement of volume with 16 fluid ounces equal to one pint. You can also measure them in standardized predefined container.
